I use this as undersink filter to supply to my hot and cold water hyflux dispenser. Trouble free installation.

Takes the chlorine tastes out. Finally drink tap water. Ordered filter again.

Got this to change out the basic filter that came with the kit. Website says they are all interchangeable...sort of. This one is MUCH longer, so you need some extra room under the bracket. I had just enough. Box says no need to shut off the water...true if you don't mind a little spray. Just a little, but not zero. Keep a towel handy. Twist, out with the old, twist, in with the new. Easy peasy. On to the taste testing. BUT WAIT!! Gotta let ten gallons run through...trust me, this is important. After following the directions, water snobs in the house report this is as good if not better than the water in the fridge door (Gucci built in filter) and basic bottled water from Wal Mart. Can't tell the difference, and biggest improvement is in chlorine...can't taste/smell it any more.So what's the downside? Flow rate. Definitely lower. Box claims 1.5 gpm, like others have posted, likely optimistic. Sure, totally depends on your local water pressure, but a quick before/after test...I got just over 1.5 gpm with the old one, just under 1.0 gpm on this one (1' 5" to fill the 1 gal iced tea pitcher). Not a show stopper but definitely slower and not 1.5 gpm. Not a problem for a glass of water, but if you're filling your sink, be patient.Just had to cut the old one open for a peek...sure enough, I recommend sticking with the 6 month interval. My old one was about a year, and the paper element inside was crumbling. Won't get through the mesh/screen, but scary nonetheless. Carbon pellets are very coarse, no risk of those escaping, but the thought of drinking disintegrating paper pulp...not appetizing. Mark your calendar and stick with 6 months! Bottom line, exactly what we needed, works great, no brainer "upgrade" from the basic. Happy Filtering!

We love this filter and find it works great to remove that chlorine smell from the water in Toronto. I originally bought the kit with the filter and system but it was the smallest one. I noticed the water was tasting so so compared to my other home, then realized it has been a whole year since I bought this, whoops! So this time we bought the Maximum filter which is definitely bigger and says it filters out more. So far so good, super easy to install, great filter.
