K&H Thermo-Peep Heated Pad

Description

The K&H Thermo-Peep Heated Pad is the perfect addition to any chicken coop! The K&H Thermo-Peep Heated Pads are great for use during the first stages of life for mandatory heat requirements and later when old man winter pays a visit! These pads are thermostatically controlled to turn on and off as needed to help keep your chickens warm even in sub-zero temperatures. This ensures that your chicks do not get chilled and will help prevent “pasting” to support a healthy start in life. The K&H Thermo-Peep Heated Pads also features a 5.5' cord and 18" of that cord is totally encased in steel to protect from pecking. This pad has pre-drilled holes in each corner allowing you to easily mount them using screws or wires. Using only 25 watts they are extremely energy efficient and include a one year manufacturer's warranty.

Testing your K&H heated pad

You'll notice that the K&H heated may not feel warm to the touch, this is normal!! The heat will dissipate into the air unless there is something on the pad or leaning against the pad.

You can test the pad by placing a large pillow on top of the pad. After about 20 minutes, feel under the pillow. It will feel warm, not hot.

I purchased this item for my hairless rat. It was the perfect item as it provided heat when he sat on it and never became too hot or hurt his delicate skin. I highly recommend this item for small animals! Luckily the item was durable and the metal cord was not chewed on, and it was a safe addition to my rat cage for multiple years

Was very grateful for this little heat mat this past week. One of my rabbits had a litter just days before a hard freeze. The barn does not have heat, but we don't get many freezes during the year. I buried the heating pad under some straw in the nesting box and drilled a hole at the back to run the cord. The cord is very sturdy and so far, chew proof. This kept the kits alive and hopping. Very easy and inexpensive fix. Otherwise I would have to bring the cages into the garage and set up a heater, which gets pretty messy after a few days. The heat seems to be consistent and the kits love it.

We’ve only had this heating pad for a couple weeks but so far so good. It warms up nicely for our stray cat thats been coming around for a year. Thought we’d create something to keep him on the warmer side through our prairie winters so we inserted the pad into his favourite fluffy bun. He seems to enjoy it. Great product, well made and sturdy. Very firm.

I have insulated cat houses in my yard for my ferals. Each house has a 13" × 19" heated mat inside to keep them warm during the cold winter months. I recently acquired another insulated house; however, the inside dimensions are not quiet big enough to accommodate that size of mat, whereas this one fits perfectly! This mat is great, very solid and well constructed. I highly recommend if a smaller type heated mat is what you need.

I bought this to heat the floor of a small feeding station for wild birds. It gives off very gentle warmth to the touch. I even discovered on a thermometer that the air in the small enclosed feeding station was 5 degrees celsius warmer than the exterior air, although I'm not sure this is entirely because of the heating pad. There seemed to be no problems with freezing rain and snow on the exterior side. It worked well all winter.
