Great little lantern, don't expect 100% perfection but for the price it is more than worth it. The overall quality is good, and a bright flame for around the campsite or in an emergency. It seems like it will last a long time, I will update this review after an extensive use of the lantern.

Kinda expensive, but works terrific ! it has a larger orifice and more airflow than the original dual-purpose floor attachment. The newly purchased attachment is larger, flows more air, is lighter, and picks up debris better from hardwood floors. I wish I would have purchased this attachment sooner.

These are classics. Its made well and will serve its purpose well after I'm done with it. Buy one and your kids will get it someday.

This should be standard on all C1 Mieles. After a handful of years, the original head with wheels was getting annoyingly squeaky, and I took it apart and lubed the wheels and axle-- to no avail. (I know, a vacuum is loud, but I don't want it any louder than it should be, and the squeaking was super annoying.). I was even thinking of getting one of those battery stick vacuum thingies, but then I stumbled on this floor brush. It is super quiet, and so maneuverable. So maneuverable! It swivels to a perfect 90, so you can get into super narrow areas, and around chairs and table legs without moving them. It also articulates enough that you can vacuum the tops of baseboards and quarter round without switching to the small brush attachment. I love it! I don't see the need of a stick vacuum anymore, this works so well.Miele- make this standard, and ditch the wheeled one.

The lantern I received was flawless, no dents or paint defects. The lantern burns nicely with no smoke or odor beyond the initial burn in period while using a quality parafin lamp oil. I believe it to be a nice addition to any home emergency preparedness kit and I will probably purchase a couple more.

I was wary of the cost of this Miele attachment but it is so much better for any uncarpeted floor than the normal attachment that I'd highly recommend it. It easily pivots into any corner at any angle, around furniture too, and it glides along the floor. It's super lightweight, so much lighter than the normal attachment which is adjustable and meant for carpets and uncovered floors. Expensive but I'm glad I bought it

The Winter Ice season is upon us again,I recently acquired a green no.30 little wizard lantern and light of mine spare wick from Cortes at Amazon. I like dealing with Cortes because they are a no fuss company who will make things right if something is broken or has another problem.Cortes is also the only company which stocks Dietz little wizards in a variety of colors, this is the first green one ive ran into. When i get a lantern new or old i get a measuring cup and funnel and fill the tank about half full and hang it up over night. Dietz lanterns are rolled togather like a soup can bottom,as a rule they dont leak, but ive ran into 3 in 50 years that did. Sometimes they will drip out of the seam but this is rare,Cortes will make it right if you would manage to get a leaky seam .Dietz lanterns ive read are guaranteed NOT to leak and Cortes honors their warranty. That being said people complain about lanterns leaking when they actually are over filled(which they are designed to do).In the top of each lantern tank is a air chamber which is attached to the hollow frame which holds the globe and chimney. The no. 30 i believe is rated as holding 17 ounces,so i put in half for a leak test and about 15 for usage.Kerosene by nature will expand when warmed up.This is not a problem when using the lantern outdoors. When overfilling the tank or by expansion kerosene will drip out the bottom of the hollow frame corners after kerosene has made it into the air chamber where it does not belong. When used correctly, all will be well,no leaks, and the No. 30 will give a bright light,a long burning light and a virtually wind proof light. The Dietz no.30 is a dependable light, always ready with a strike of a match.I always fill them up outside, wipe them off with a rag if you managed to spill any kerosene onto the side while filling. When New,i always burn them outside about 4 hours to cure the paint before i need one inside the house. After the curing in period there is very little odor.Raise the globe by pushing down on the lever on the right, turn the wick up about a 1/8 of a inch above the burner and light it.Once the globe is lowered the flame will jump up because air will be pushed into the bottom of the burner by the operation of the lantern. after about 2 minutes adjust the flame up where it smokes and back it down to a even flame, check it periodically for flame heighth, This is what a cold blast lantern does. The hotter it gets as you use it the more efficient it gets. The little wizard is a portable lantern and one should think of it as a tool.It is worth the money spent on it as it will last for decades if not abused and thrown around ,the metal is thicker than novelty lanterns as it is designed for rugged outdoor use as well as indoor useIt will light up one room fairly well, you can read by it in a pinch if close to the lantern. Lanterns are designed to be (portable) where lamps are not.In other words you move the light where you need it most. There are brighter lanterns, like the dietz air pilot,D-Lite and Blizzard and they are larger, heavier. The No. 30 will surprise you on a pitch dark night in a field or parking lot when there is also no street lights. This is old technology before electric lighting,it works, its reliable. The wick will require trimming every now and then, when the flame burns high on one side you simply trim off the ragged threads on the wick and make them even across the burner .A good camp light,a good back up light,a perfect gift for people who set in the dark when the power gos out.I always get a roll of spare wick to go with a lantern,as sometimes it is difficult to find in the modern world. With a gallon of kerosene, spare wicks you will be set up for a long time of service.
