My old photo cell stopped working and I replaced it with this one. I like that this one has a much larger area for the light to be absorbed and consequently does a much better job. And the price was half the cost of my old one!

This is a very well designed photocell for low-voltage and is also very well made. Everything needed for installation onto the transformer was included and there's even a cap to cover the cell if you want to turn the lights on before dark. I found it to be a perfect addition to the 75-watt low voltage transformer I also purchased from Miksolutions.Total install time for me was less than 5 minutes. Simply removed the knock-out closest to the photocell receptacle, placed the rubber gasket and then the washer over the wire, pushed the wire through the knockout, placed the washer and nut over the wire, and tightened the nut while holding the photocell in place at the angle I wanted it toward the sunlight. The only tools needed were a medium size flat screwdriver and needle nose pliers. Regular pliers would also have worked but not quite as well. The other great part of this purchase was the service from the seller. They responded promptly to my texts with answers to my questions while I built a package of lights and transformer for an outdoor fountain, even during times they were closed!I highly recommend this photocell and would have confidence in anything sold by Miksolutions.

I added this photocell for my low voltage transformer to automatically turn our low voltage path lighting on at dusk and off at dawn. (My transformer was from Rejuvenation, but looks identical to the Lightkiwi.) With LED's being so efficient, we just keep the path lights on all night for security and to assist delivery drivers on our front walkway arriving at the front door after dark. The photocell installed into a knockout on the transformer box and plugged into a receptacle inside the transformer. No wire nuts or terminal wiring was required. I then turned the timer in the transformer on to run all day - so the photocell can turn the lights on whenever it is dark.
