Ich wunderte mich schon, dass dieser (m.E. grundsätzlich eigentlich überteuerte) LRBaggs Session DI unter dem aktuellen marktüblichen Preis bei Amazon angeboten wurde.Ich teste generell immer wieder neue Produkte im Bereich von Akustikgitarren-Equipment. Nun wollte ich mal dieses Gerät testen, ggf. meine Equipment damit erweitern. Gerne natürlich auch zu diesem günstigeren Preis.Das Amazon-Paket kam unglaublich schnell an.Schon beim Auspacken wunderte ich mich, dass die Umverpackung des Session-DI sehr abgenutzt, sonnengebleicht aussieht. Als Nächstes stellte ich sofort fest, das diese Verpackung schon einmal geöffnet war, des weiteren das im Gerät eine auslaufgefährdete, ungeschützte 9V-Blockbatterie lag.Ebenso war sofort ersichtlich, dass direkt neben dem Fußschalter, auf dem hochwertigen Metallgehäuse, ein Kratzer ist, den man nicht eben so mal fabrizieren kann. Bei weiterer Durchsicht fiel auf, das von den vier Positionen des seitlich angebrachten Schiebereglers (hpf 40, 80,120, 200) nur drei Positionen funktionieren.Ich habe dann gleich Kontakt zum Amazon-Kundendienst aufgenommen, vereinbart das dieses Gerät zurück geht.Schade das ich nun nicht testen kann, schade um diese unnötige Aktion.

Superlative performance if you think compression and saturation are the best managers of your acoustic guitars tone. It just works and I love how it will operate to DI and rely on phantom power off the board.

This is an absolutely fantastic DI for those gigging their acoustic guitar in a live setting. ESPECIALLY if they don't have large sound system-advanced venues with pro sound people. I've found the Saturation and and Compression EQ to be super helpful particularly if you have a Taylor ES1 system or under-saddle transducer in your guitar. The Saturation gives warmth and a fatter single note tone, and takes away the "quackiness" of a UST. It almost sounds like there's just a touch of reverb. It just makes it "better" which I know is subjective. The Compression EQ is not a compressor. It provides compression for the guitar's EQ frequencies across the board, so that if your low frequencies or upper mids go rogue and become a nuisance they are reined in. Likewise if the mids or highs completely drop out it boosts them. SUPER creative and easy to use feature. The notch filter is excellent at reducing feedback, and this DI is quiet and has gain to SPARE. It's road-tested (Lloyd Baggs drove over it WITH HIS TRUCK--video online) and backed by Baggs' incredible customer service.For those saying it doesn't make crap sound better I'm not sure I agree, but if your pickup sounds like crap TAKE IT OUT AND GET A NEW ONE. Your local guitar tech can help you pick out a better pickup for your needs and for a small fee can uninstall your yucky pickup and install a new one. Then, just sell your old pickup to offset the costs. Problem solved.If you're a gigging musician the only other option would be a Baggs Para Acoustic DI (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E95KEC?keywords=baggs%20para%20acoustic&qid=1449240771&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1). These DIs offer significantly more EQ controls (not necessary if you have a decent sound guy) and lack Saturation, but they are excellent DIs as well. You can't go wrong with either one.
