What can I say? It’s a R&P and it works, gears set fine. I run 4.88’s and 36’s on my Dana 30 and last set lasted me a few years of HARD abuse.

Excelente, todo anda muy bien, tomar en cuenta que para instalar este paso necesitas una caja o portador para pasos de 3.73 en adelante, no funciona la caja original del paso 3.54 hacia abajo.

The DANA 30 requires a specific carrier for gears 3.73 and up numerically. This is not made clear anywhere in the product description and I discovered it the hard way. If your jeep comes with 3.55s stock you will need to replace your carrier. I attempted to install these 4.88 gears on the stock carrier (I had 3.55s) and it was impossible to get my backlash and pattern correct. A bit of additional research and I found that I needed to replace my carrier. After replacing my carrier with one designed for 3.73 and up numerically the install went smooth and everything worked great. Only removing one star as the product itself is great.

I'm very happy with these gears. They installed easily (my first time installing R&P), and seem to be running just fine, even with some moderate off-road use. I don't notice any difference in noise over the stock gears. The tolerances were nice and tight so the pattern and backlash were consistent over the whole ring gear, which is very reassuring for a first time installer.The one thing is I wish they would provide a table or something to convert from check depth (distance from axle center-line to pinion head) marked on the pinion head; to shim depth difference from the nominal stack (+1 -3, etc.) like the OEM used. That would have been a much easier way to get the starting shims set up, since as a DIY'er I don't own one of those fancy specialized check-depth tools, nor can you really rent one from an auto-parts store.Other than that I'm very happy with my Motive Gears and would buy them again.
