Great value! The knives are sturdy and the curve at the tip really do a good job. The gloves fit okay and are good for safety purposes.

The shape of this knife is the best to open Oyster with the right technique.DO NOT PUSH, only set the tip of the knife sturdy in the HINGE of the oyster and push down, like a lever, to break the hinge. Once the Hinge is broke... insert the knife by the side of the oyster, with the tip curve upside, make sure the tip don't rip the oyster meat, better to rake the top of the shell with the tip, until you reach the muscle (also know as scallop) and gently cut it.The oyster is yours. buon appetite.

I have never shucked an oyster, and wanted to try. I tested this out a couple of gulf coast oysters. There was a slight learning curve (not the utensil's fault), but it went well. The oyster knife is strong, and the curve on the end helps a lot. I'm glad they provided the gloves. The surface of the oyster is rough and would irritate your hands after a few openings. Now that I know the basics, I can get brave and order more oysters.

This is one of two shuckers that I use.This one has a great handle and really sturdy blade. Point is dull, which works most of the time. Gloves were a great add on. Really helps grip, machine washable, will use going forward.
