I recently got a new queen sized matress. I used to travel for work and always loved the goose down hotel pillows and comforters. I decided to order some goose down pillows. The pillows were so nice that I've been browsing goose down duvets and comforters. When I came across this comforter, I had to give it a try. This arrived very nicely packaged. The packaging looked like a luxury item and would make a great gift. It came in a nice box and storage bag. There was an envelope with cards for care and instructions. They also included an air freshner that I decided to put in my car. It smells amazing. The comforter was vacuum sealed. The moment I cut the bag open, it instantly started to puff up. I was very happy that this didn't have any bad odors. I've ordered other bedding stuff online that I had to toss in the trash just because it smelled so bad. The instructions state to beat the comforter and lay it out for 24 hours to fully fluff up before use. I didn't wait the full 24 hours because this thing fluffed up so much in just a few hours of sitting on my bed. I don't think it was possible to get any more fluffy. I was very happy to see an OEKO-TEX tag near the care and instructions tag. I'm sure OEKO-TEX tags could be faked, but I'd rather see it than not see it. I don't usually order white bedding, but I ordered a grey duvet cover to pair with this. I love that it has 8 duvet cover tab loops. It has top, bottom, left, and right loops. It also has loops on all 4 corners for attaching my duvet cover to it. This keeps the insert from sliding around and bunching up. This is the nicest comforter I've ever owned. It really does feel like the hotel comforters that I remember. I love how fluffy and soft it is. I haven't used this during the summer yet, but it's very comfy and warm for wintertime. This does have more weight to it than an ordinary cotton comforter. Personally, I like the hefty feel. It feels like the comforter is hugging you when under it. It feels like laying on a cloud when it's under you. Weather laying under this or on top of it, you will find this very comfortable. You can use this without a duvet cover, but I suggest getting a cover. You can get a couple of different covers if you are the type of person who likes to change the look and design of your room often. Between the new matress, feather, and down pillows and comforter, I've been getting the best sleep ever. I wake up earlier now while feeling even better rested. I don't think I can ever go back to regular cotton blankets and pillows ever again.

My previous down comforter had seen better days, so I decided it was a good opportunity to try this Pacific Coast comforter, made from 95% feather and 5% down. Upon arrival, the comforter was neatly compressed in vacuum-sealed packaging. I carefully unpacked it, fluffed it, and allowed it to air out on my bed for two days, as recommended. The first noticeable difference compared to my old pure down comforter was the weight; this feather and down blend is significantly heavier. This added weight is not necessarily a drawback, as some people may prefer the secure feeling provided by a heavier comforter. Another practical feature is the inclusion of fasteners at each corner and along the sides, keeping it securely in place inside my duvet cover. When sleeping under the comforter, I noticed a gentle crinkling sound as I shifted positions. This appears to come from the feathers moving against the cotton shell fabric. While noticeable, this sound is subtle rather than intrusive.Regarding its primary function, the comforter excelled in keeping me warm throughout the night. My bedroom is usually quite cool, yet I felt comfortably cozy, suggesting this comforter is well-suited for cooler climates or colder months. As expected with heavier bedding, it might be too warm during the summer. My only reservation concerns the potential durability of the feather fill. Unlike pure down, feathers can break down over time, potentially affecting the insulation performance. Additionally, the label clearly recommends professional laundering, suggesting that improper cleaning could accelerate feather degradation.Overall, considering its significantly lower price compared to a pure down comforter, this Pacific Coast feather and down comforter represents excellent value. With careful use and proper maintenance, it should provide comfort and warmth for many years. However, users should remain mindful that extensive cleaning might shorten its useful lifespan.

Splurge for the down vs the feather, it’s worth it. The feathers are louder and less fluffy.

This down comforter has real feathers in it, is very warm and soft, and comes in a great looking package, which could be given safely as a gift. The package includes the comforter, a fabric case, clear care instructions ad thank you note, and some kind of tag that doesn't appear to have any use. The comforter is vacuum sealed, and once opened doesn't have a scent. Opening the comforter outside and shaking it didn't product any feathers or debris. The size is correct, and fits my queen bet well. The comforter has a noticeable weight to it, which gives it a quality feel. There is a slight crunchy sound when moving the comforter or with it lying on top of me at night, but it's not too bad. I'd imagine it would soften up over time. This does take a day or more to fully fluff up to size, and that's after shaking it outside for a few minutes. I'd recommend using a duvet cover, though I plan to continue to use it bare since I find duvet covers a bit too warm. The price is a little higher than other down comforters, however this shows quality and is worth the extra price in my opinion.
