Overall I was pleased with this set. It was purchased for my niece, who is just starting out, so a budget-friendly set was nice. Also given her beginner status, it was nice to have a decent set of brushes included with this set. I would not go so far to say that these are superior, professional-grade brushes, but they certainly look to be a solid, decent set for someone just starting out or who does casual painting. My niece has commented that she likes the feel of the contoured brush handles very much. The foam and parchment paper for the wet palette also seem nice and she has not had problems using them. The one thing I am not crazy about, however, is the fact that the palette sits inside the larger container and doesn't seem to be able to have a snug/secure closure in and of itself, which the palette I use myself does. That is one of the big reasons to use a wet palette, so I would see this as a big drawback for someone who plans to "store" their paints for another session on a regular basis. In sum, I would say this is a good starter set for someone just getting into miniature (or whatever) painting, as it comes with brushes and a nice storage case, assuming that, for the most part, one is going to clean up their palette at the end of a painting session most of the time, or have a designated hobby area, where a tight seal on the palette is not critical. For more hard-core painters who already have a stock of their favorite brushes, etc., there might be better choices, depending on your needs.

My Brad new fresh out of box wet pallet is moldy this is gross.
