If you’re the kind of person who finds joy in watching bread rise like a science experiment that actually tastes good, this cast iron loaf pan might be your new best friend. I’ve baked bread for years using everything from ceramic pans to sheet pans with a stainless mixing bowl on top (ugly but effective). This thing, though—this is a proper upgrade. The two-in-one design is clever. Use the base and lid together for a Dutch oven-style bake or split them and bake two loaves side by side if you’re running double batches. The steam retention from the lid gave the sourdough that crisp, blistery crust while keeping the inside tender and not too dense. It’s pre-seasoned but I added a light coat of oil and heated it before first use—just a habit with cast iron. Nothing stuck, and cleanup was a breeze (well, a cast-iron kind of breeze; still hand-wash and oil it). I do recommend heating both halves in the oven while preheating; helps with that crispy crust and makes it easier to handle the dough.Size-wise, the 10x5 loaf pan is just right. It gives bread enough space to rise without turning into a mushroom cloud, and the weight of the lid helps hold its shape. The pan is heavy, but manageable with the included oven gloves—though if your hands are larger, you might want to use your own. Handles are wide enough to grip without cussing. This pan’s not just for bread either. You could easily roast a small meatloaf, lasagna, or even use the top as a baking dish on its own. It stacks neatly, saves space, and feels like the kind of kitchen tool that’ll last forever if you don’t drop it on your tile floor. All in all, it’s a solid piece of gear. Heavy-duty, versatile, and turns out a beautiful loaf. If you’re into baking and have a little upper body strength, this one’s a no-brainer.

I thoroughly enjoyed using this bread pan. I have several different cast-iron pans for baking and cooking, and I've always wanted a rectangular one for quick breads. This pan is great for quick breads but also for yeast and sourdough loaves and snack cakes. Heck you could make a meatloaf in it if you weren't concerned about transferring smells to your next loaf of bread!I tested this pan out with a basic sourdough loaf (I tried 800g of dough but could have used much more) and a cornbread recipe from the included recipe book. The pan came pre-seasoned but I seasoned it again before using. I allowed both halves of the pan to get hot in the oven then swiped a thin layer of oil all around the inside. Super easy.I let both halves of the pan heat in the oven during preheating. Each loaf was baked with the lid on. For the sourdough loaf I took the lid off halfway through baking to allow the top to brown. Both loaves came out great.Things I love about this pan:Two pans in one: having the option to bake a loaf in both halves at the same time is so great!Nesting halves: The two pieces fit inside each other to make storage easierHandles: they are spaced apart from each other enough so it's easy to grab either set quickly without fumbling(though I use an oven glove not a mitt xo it's easier to grab small things)The size: I'd much rather have a 10x5 loaf pan than a 9x4"The weight: Heavy duty and thick enough cast iron to bake evenly but very easy to manage. I did not find the weight to be a problem whatsoever.I had no negative experiences with this loaf pan set. Really great set at a very reasonable price! The included oven mitts were a bit of a snug fit but otherwise average (I highly recommend oven gloves for anything with handles though!).

As an Amazon Vine reviewer, I received this item at no charge in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. The COWORM 10x5 Cast Iron Loaf Pan with Lid is an exceptional tool for anyone who enjoys baking homemade bread, especially sourdough. The pan is made of high-quality cast iron, providing excellent heat retention and even cooking. This ensures that the bread bakes evenly, producing a beautifully golden, crusty exterior and soft, airy interior. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced baker, this loaf pan will enhance your baking results. The 2-in-1 design, with a fitted lid, is a standout feature. The lid traps steam, creating the perfect environment for bread to rise and bake, similar to a Dutch oven. This is particularly beneficial when making sourdough, as it helps to develop the bread’s characteristic crust and texture. The lid is also versatile, allowing it to be used as a cover during the initial phase of baking and then removed to allow the bread to brown and crisp up towards the end.The pan’s size is ideal for a standard 10x5 loaf, giving you plenty of room for your dough to expand while still producing a perfectly shaped loaf. The handles on the sides make it easy to handle the pan, even when it’s hot. The cast iron is durable and built to last, and it can be used on all stovetops, in the oven, and even over an open flame if needed.Cleaning the pan is easy, as it is pre-seasoned and requires minimal maintenance. However, it’s essential to care for the pan by hand-washing it and reapplying a light layer of oil to maintain its non-stick surface and prevent rust. The heavy-duty construction ensures that this pan will be a reliable tool in your kitchen for years to come.Overall, the COWORM Cast Iron Loaf Pan with Lid is a fantastic addition to any home baker’s collection. It offers excellent baking performance, great versatility, and lasting durability. If you’re looking to bake perfect sourdough or any other type of bread, this pan will not disappoint. Highly recommended!

These are very nice cast iron pans. I have a lot of cast iron pans and I have a lot of loaf pans, but I did not have any cast iron loaf pans until I received these. They are well made and come with very well written instructions for care and maintenance of the pans. They are pre-seasoned, but the company suggests re-seasoning the pans before first use and so I followed the included instructions. Once they were seasoned I could t wait to try to bake a loaf of sour dough bread in the enclosed chamber. The pans worked great. They join together at a seam on the rim that is positive and with the weight of the top pan they stay perfectly aligned. They did not shift when going into or out of the oven and the seam is tight enough to lock in moisture. My sour dough loaf rose more than I have normally been able to achieve, producing a light and airy bread. And the crust was amazing. The pans were easy to clean and they nest together for storage. Very well done.

I love that these are essentially two full separate pans because I intend to utilize them for other food items than just bread - especially baked dips and low-acid pastas. You basically get 2 uncovered cast iron pans or one very tall covered and enclosed cast iron loaf pan. The cast iron comes pre-seasoned, though I like to season away to my little heart's desire during the Winter. They are appropriately sized. The loaf pans are heavy and well made and seem like they will hold up to some serious baking. I am working on adding some of my own layers of polymerized oil before utilizing the pans, and my initial impression of them is very positive. : )
