I have limited experience with specialized abrasives, but this item is proving very useful in an art studio context (for example, sanding panels for acrylic painting). If you are buying your first piece, I’d suggest starting with the 200 grit product, as the 400 is much less aggressive in removing material, as it should be. I like the robust cloth backing and the flatness of this fairly small patch of abrasive. A larger piece would be very advantageous, if available. I expect to find a number of uses for this size, in any case.
