I had the original primer bulb go bad after 15 years. No leaks, but the internal check valve failed and gas would not flow toward the motor when you squeezed the bulb. I replaced it with a cheaper after market primer bulb and it literally only lasted 1 year before it did the same thing as the one I replaced it for. Hopefully this one will last longer. It works perfect at the moment.

I spent the extra dollar or two for the branded Quicksilver bulb vs generic overseas knock off and glad I did. Was about to start looking for hose clamps for the swap with the old Quicksilver bulb which after 16 years living outdoors developed a split/leak. The plastic clamps for the unit were in the box! Had everything I needed for installation which took about 5 mins....A big plus when a repair goes exactly as planned. Hope the plastic clamps hold up.

I was having problems starting my 150 HP Mercury Outboard motor. I’d squeeze the bulb and it seemed to be full of gas, but the motor took forever to start. I felt it was because it’s wasn’t getting enough gas even though the bulb seemed full so thought I should try a new one. I did and this bulb works like a charm. When I pump it’s, I can actually feel and the gas moving into the bulb until it is full and tight. I hit the key and the engine is running immediately, no real cranking at all. The old bulb had simply lost it’s flexibility and what I thought was a full bulb, was simply a bulb that due to age was hard empty.
