Don’t buy from Ayre because if you have to send it back you get effed for shipping.

Je possède une ensemble hi-fi haut de gamme avec des enceintes fabus, l’ajout du caisson apporte discrètement des graves soutenus sans nuire à la musicalité! Excellent caisson

If you are a music listener, this Subwoofer can be integrated so well with your speakers that it will seem to disappear, and do its job without calling too much attention to itself. (Quite a few cheaper Subwoofers don't do this well.) Or, if you like Bass tones thumping against your chest, this Sub can be tuned to do that too. This may not be the best Sub for you if you plan to use this Sub almost exclusively for TV-movies, since it is not specifically designed to be a 'Thumping & Rumbling' bass that hits you in the chest, which many movie viewers seem to prefer....although the REL T/7x has tuning controls that can do that, BUT...so too can a lot of the less expensive Subwoofers. This subwoofer is very similar to its larger brother, the T9x, which is best for Very Large rooms. The T/7x will work great in most large rooms, but if you have a really large room, you may want the extra large sound of T/9x to shake the walls?Remember, the REL T/7x and T/9x has two speakers, one of them down-firing. The down-firing speaker only kicks-in on the very deepest notes. Many other Subs have one speaker and a Port. The REL's are a particularly well designed Subs, meant to Look Good (in White or Black), no matter how high-end your furniture or sound system may be....within limits of course. If your stereo system costs over 15 grand, you probably can afford an even more expensive Sub(s). For any under 10-grand stereo system, in a traditionally large room, REL offers a model that will hit your sweet spot.I have this T/7x paired with Ohm Walsh 2000 speakers, which generally don't even need a subwoofer, unless you really want to 'Do Deep', with say organ music. But really, to each their own on these sound issues. The REL engineers designing these Subs are sticklers for detail, and you can hear that difference in their musical fidelity and realism. These are highly efficient Subs (unlike most of them), which require less power to drive them, and they use a Class AB amplifier, if that makes a difference to you? Most subs have opted for Class D amplifiers since they tend to be cheaper & pump out more watts, which can be very good at times; but are generally not as transparent as Class A, or AB amplification. For people on a tighter budget, the new Speedwoofer 10S MKII is a good option, very good bang for the buck, for ~$460. Although there is often a waiting list for this Subwoofer.
