These are small bits and I intend to save them for certain jobs. My main concern is to use them when drilling in Stainless Steel. Once a pilot hole has been made in SS, it is much easier to drill to a larger size. Or that has been my experience anyway.Of course the reason I intend to save them for that is because they are carbide. And while carbide does not dull as quickly, it can be brittle. There are some smaller bits in this set that will certainly be handy as well. But since they are carbide and brittle, I will be very selective with them too. So this is kind of a specialty set for me.I did take the 5mm bit and drilled a hole in mild steel just to see if it cut well, and it does. But I took my time with it and used cutting oil. Be careful with these bits, don't turn them too fast either...take your time and they do cut very well.

I occasionally need to drill very small holes, 1 or 2 mm diameter, and of course such small drill bits can't be gripped in my normal every day drill. These will, however, with their 4 mm shank. I am drilling into 3D printed plastic so that's not much of a challenge for a drill bit, so I can't comment on drilling harder materials like aluminum. These drill bits come in individual small cases for each bit and I would have preferred one large case instead, but that's not a big deal.
