Well, so far, so good. Picked up Spain last night and Japan tonight with a wire draped over the curtain rod. Definitely a keeper. Everything was in the box and in working order. It has a 9ft(?) plug-in antenna but I use one of the XHDATA wind-up ones. Ref the instructions, I downloaded the PDF file, printed it, and stuck it in a duo-tang for easy reference.

Good radio but small, good sensitivity but SSB is not that great. Good reception on FM and AM.Sound quality is ok, use the external antenna jack for better reception on AM and SW.

A lot of features for such a compact radio. The audio quality is great esp. with all of the various audio filter settings.Bonus points for the SSB and air band performance. Amazing FM broadcast band audio and true stereo separation (with headphones). I wish it had just a true On / Off switch that turned off the display light and the radio and bypassed the sleep timer completely, but it's a minor issue once you get used to it. (Why is a sleep timer so important on a short wave radio?) It is possible to accidentally leave the display light on even after turning the radio off, but again, I'm used to it now. Nice battery life and it recharges reasonably fast.
