For testing; I chose the Rocgorld 12V 10 Amp 3X faster pump and this Ashasta 5 to 12 Volt 10 Amp converter. Pump at idle draws 0.23 A and with converter output at 12.97 V. With pump working at about 20 psi 5.9 A, the converter output is 11.74 V. It pumped this spare tire (see provided photos) from 0 to 20 lbs in four minutes. The pump could restart at 29 lbs, but with some difficulty taking several attempts. I am guessing pump initial startup current at higher pressure is causing converter current limiting. Overall this combination works for my purpose. The two ground wires are common ground. All wires are isolated from the heat-sink. During the four minutes the heat-sink was just slightly warm to the touch laying on a cloth towel. If mounted on metal surface -- should easily dissipate the 120 Watts.
