One of the best baitcasting reels on the market. Great bang for your buck. Can't find a thing I would change.

This is my third Shimano reel and I purchased this reel to handle smaller baits. This reel, compared to my other Shimanos, was a little more finicky to set up. I am going to say probably on my part though. I put 14 lb. flouro on with a 6'6" Med/Fast rod because that is all I had at this time. I am, however, going to change to 12 lb. and a 6'9" rod.With the lighter baits I had to be more precise with my settings. Seemed like I had to go almost all the way with the brakes with some baits but, that could be because of the line and rod I was using. I may go with a 7' plus rod.Not disappointed at all. Still feels like a normal quality Shimano to me. Solid and Tight. Yes, I would buy another. With that said, I may entertain the idea of trying the Curado version of this reel.****UPDATE 11/9/21*****OK. I have had this reel for almost a year now. I ended up putting it on a 7'2" MHF rod and spooling with 12# flouro. I have had time to figure out all of the brakes and settings and this has become one of my favorite set ups. I have, as of late, been using this set up for mainly swim baits and spinnerbaits. and I have thrown in an occasional weightless fluke. Could not be happier. I have even started skipping with this reel. With all of this said I have not had a major backlash yet. The key is to adjust brakes accordingly. I have a SLX DC, 2021 Scorpion DC, Scorpion 71, and This SLX MGL. I would rate this reel as my second favorite behind the Scorpion 71.
